The government of La Rioja inaugurated this week the state airline "Alas La Rioja" , based on a contract with the company American Jet. In principle, it will have eight monthly flights to Buenos Aires in planes for 48 passengers .

The announcement generated a reaction from the opposition, which came out to cross the initiative: "It is a Soviet policy , serious and professional companies are needed, not improvisations."

On Wednesday, Rioja Governor Ricardo Quintela participated in the baptism ceremony of "Alas La Rioja", created from a Public Limited Company with Majority State Participation (SAPEM) that contracted American Jet, the company will provide aircraft to the province to make eight monthly connections.

"Baptism of the first flight of Alas La Rioja We are happy to have the first air transport company destined for Riojan women, men from Rioja and tourists. We are offering a different alternative, reliable and with a better price. Book your flight!", Governor Quintela posted about the new airline that does not have a website and sells tickets through a tourism agency .
